BRYAN MANLEY DAVIS
Growing up, Bryan played three sports, became an Eagle Scout, and could be aptly titled the good old All-American boy. Yet, there was always a deeper calling tugging at Bryan's heart strings. This calling whispered to him as a boy, inspiring Bryan to take up traveling Native American hoop dancing (yes, it's a real thing) at the age of 10. It spoke louder to him as a teen, prompting him to pursue acting and school musicals after seeing Oklahoma! on TV. And it spoke to him once again, even louder, as an undergraduate student, when it said, "Bryan, Texas is no place for a young man with tap shoes..."
Realizing his soul was deeper than Texas is large, and despite his love of deep fried avocado and flour tortilla tacos with extra queso, he packed his bags for bigger stages and broader experiences (and has since vowed to never return for more than 2 weeks at a time, but please don't tell his mom. She's lovely and it's not her fault). After completing his undergraduate degree in Theatre, he moved to D.C. and completed his M.F.A. in Acting. He successfully completed the esteemed Actor’s Apprenticeship at the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville and has since resided in New York City for enough years to hate the MTA and cross the street when it says "don't walk".
Although currently focused on acting for TV and Film, Bryan's foundation is indeed that of a stage actor, with formal classical training in scene study, Shakespeare, voice, movement, and stage combat. Bryan successfully navigated the Regional Theatre circuit, acquiring credits at several notable theatres including the Tony award winning Actors Theatre of Louisville and McCarter Theatre.
A dedicated, lifelong student of the craft, Bryan continues to hone his skill-set in on-camera masterclasses with his mentor Matt Newton. He also teaches On-Camera technique at MN Acting Studio in midtown. Naturally compassionate and intuitive, Bryan focuses on developing a level of trust with students, and his approach is simply to give actors a place where they can stop acting and start telling the story through their most authentic self.
Bryan is represented by Christopher Silveri at Center Stage Management. Currently, you can catch him in nearly every commercial break during Sunday night football in a national commercial airing for NFL sponsors, UntuckIt. You can also spot him on Funny Or Die in a hilarious spot for Pima-Cott, and coming later this fall, you'll be able to see Bryan as the golden boy turned murderously bad, on the true crime series A Crime To Remember on Discovery ID.
